Coors Field is a great baseball stadium and a must see for anyone visiting Denver. There are homeless people but we never felt unsafe despite the late hour. We walked up and down the 16th street pedestrian mall before and after the game to our downtown hotel. We caught a street vendor outside but there is also a 7-Eleven store on Blake street towards downtown nearby. You can also bring in unopened non-alcoholic drinks which I would highly recommend. Some concession stands offer a kids meal for $5 which is great for families. The seats along the first base line receive quite a bit of evening sun but they also have views of the mountains. We sat in the lower part of the upper deck behind home plate and I thought they were great seats. Even though we were dressed out for the Cardinals we had fun interactions with Rockies fans and everyone seemed happy to be at the ballpark. A fan behind us brought a towel to dry off his seat from an earlier rain shower and he let us use it as well. The game day staff were extremely nice and helped assist us with questions. It is extremely well done and comes off as classic without being gimmicky. This was only my second time here but I really love this ballpark. This was Nolan Arenado’s first game back in Colorado so it was nice to see him receive a well deserved ovation. We won't be returning. We came to the game on 7/1 to watch the Rockies play the St. Staff wore their masks below their noses, defeating the purpose of how to avoid spreading Covid-19. Their take out containers are styrofoam, so they aren't environmentally conscious either. The noisy table we brought to the attention of staff but nothing came of it which is their prerogative. Overall, this restaurant is very noisy between loud music and some noisy patrons with mediocre yet relatively high priced food. My meal was mediocre, my friend's quesadillas she rated a 5 out of 10 and said the guacamole was good. My friend got the cheese quesadillas, and I got the shrimp & scallop catemaco. Took a long time before any waitstaff took our order. The hostess had seated everyone in the front half of the restaurant I suppose to increase chances of spreading illness and increasing noise. The table of 3 women next to us were so loud that we couldn't hear each other talking so we had to move tables. My Mexican Mojito drink was not good.soda was flat and it had too much mint, and my friend wasn't a fan of her margarita (4 out of 10). my friend's drink order but walked away quickly and didn't ask if I wanted a drink, so I had to order from another server. My chair must have been under some A/C unit because water started dripping on me immediately. They gave us chips and salsa pretty quickly upon seating us. Sad to say, we will not be back and years of our business was of no importance. The comment was "you ordered beef" which was untrue but even if that had been the case, the "beef " that was being used in these enchiladas was of very poor quality. Shocking that there was no apology and no replacement order. The uneaten take out order was returned this evening and we expected apologies and a replacement order of chicken fajita enchiladas. if the beef had been etible! The beef in the enchiladas was worse than dog food and shocking in light of the quality we are used to receiving from this restaurant. (blue corn tortillas) was sent home with beef fajita meat by mistake. Last night a standard takeout order of chicken fajita meat enchiladas I can no longer recommend this restaurant. After years of patronage things have changed and not for the better. We are long time customers going back to when this restaurant first opened. We have loved Veracruz Cafe and always found both the food and the service of the highest quality until today.
